Raises for UFT Staff

Here is some great news for all of you who were not at the last Executive Board meeting where my loyal subjects approved the following resolution:

Motion: To approve the following:

Raises for UFT Staff (For Period Covering May 2003-October 2005) Resolution

Resolved, that the UFT Staff will receive the increases in the same manner as those negotiated by the UFT represented school system employees. Carried

When this gets out to the members, you may find the disgusting, disloyal, people in TJC, ICE and the UTP who would denigrate our great achievements, will start spreading rumors that we are getting money and not doing lunchroom duty or working 37 and a half minutes more a day. We will show they are vicious liars. Just stop by any restaurant on Broadway sometime between 12 and 2 and make sure there are no disruptive students wrecking the place. Then, when confronted, you can call our critics dirty liars - be sure to scream this out loud so others can hear you.

As for the 37 minutes, I am mandating that you find some time - even during the summer - to stop by and chat a bit with your colleagues both before you report to work and after you leave. If it's a few minutes less than 37 - up to 30 minutes less - don't worry about it. Just make sure to say the word "grievance" at least 3 times at some point so you can say you were working.

Here's hoping you enjoy your new windfall as we move towards our goal of having every Unity member earning six-figure salaries. With the givebacks in the next contract I think we can accomplish our aims.

I am personally writing the TWU and asking all members to donate their refunded pensions to the Unity coffers so that you can have extra benefits to go with your raises.

It's about fucking time, let me tell you. How the fuck I'm supposed to get by on less than 120K is a mystery to me, goddamn it.

Side jobs are all still payable in cash.

It's about time. Personally, I'm not comfortable if the people who run the union don't make 50% more than I do.

Get a life losers. This site is one reason out of many that more folks who are frustrated with the UFT don't jump to your side. If you want to be taken seriously stop acting like children. Satire is one thing, your satire is just plain juvenile.

I'm rubber and you're glue, whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks onto you!
NOW shut your pie hole!

Oh, Oh...

Someone's feathers got ruffled.

Thanks EdzUp for bringing laughter to what really are some serious concerns.

"Get a life losers."

Personally, I never tire of that Unity wit.

Florida's courts had the nerve to decide against vouchers. I'm shaking my slim contract in anger.

The Florida court never determined the effectiveness of voucher-funded schools.

The court merely declared funding of some schools was unconstitutional and arranged to cut off funding for the offending schools later this year.

This decision by the Florida court was almost as disturbing at the Dred Scott decision by the US Supreme Court.

I'm glad to see you folks are finally starting to pay attention to the issues.
